Consignment Terms & Conditions

We are now accepting spring/summer wear...
1.     Our consignment desk is open by appointment only Monday - Saturday. 
Pop in anytime to inquire about our next available opening! 
Drop in available Sunday 11-4.

2.      You may bring in up to 10 items per appointment. BRING YOUR BEST! Consignment is competitive and Shoppers are picky.. We will choose from these 10 items, pieces that are...

• freshly laundered -within the week
• all garments MUST come in on hangers  - we will return your hangers to you
• seasonally appropriate - now accepting spring appropriate clothing & accessories
• sale ready - no damage, flaws, rips, stains, pills or wear & tear
• We do not accept toys, baby equipment or furniture, books, skates or cleats.
• We also do not accept clothing with "logos" or vacation clothing such as "Banff", "Montreal", or "Hard Rock Cafe- Vegas" (as an example)
• All garments must have the original brand labels or brand identification tags
• We are sorry to report that we will no longer accept mens wear or children's wear.  There have been too many great items that have been passed on to charity in these departments!  (we know, this is very SAD!!)
• Brands we do not generally accept - Walmart- (725, Bum Equipment, Penmans, gl21) Zellers-(Cherokee, Mossimo), SuperStore- (Joe, Teddy's Choice) Seductions, Garage, Ardene's Clothing, SWS, Streetwear Society, Boca, Kismet, Warehouse One, Old Navy, Smart Set, Ricki's  and any brands that are inexpensive to begin with. 
  • If you can buy it new for $10 then none of us will make enough profit to be worth while.  These items are better suited to our wonderful local charities who need and appreciate your generosity.  We thank you in advance for donating these items.

 3.     Our consignment staff will determine what items are suitable for our store.   Please respect our staff as each consignment store has its own niche and we are the best judge of what will sell promptly in our store.

4.   We offer our consignors a 40% cash split based on the price at which the item  sells.  Our frequent shoppers can choose a 50% IN STORE CREDIT option.  Just ask our consignment staff about your options when you come in!
      NOTE:  It is important to communicate well with our consignment staff.  We will determine the fair market value of an item.  If you would like to meet a certain price point please discuss the item in question  at the time of the drop in as we will not make changes after you leave the store.  We cannot guarantee any specific price point but will do our best to offer the best value for both our shoppers and consignors.

5.      Our consignment contract is valid for 8 weeks.  

• We reserve the right to mark down an item at any time during the contract.  
  • We have weekly sales on different items up to 40% off and if an item is here past its contract date it can be sold for more than 50% off.
• If at anytime within the contract a defect is found the flawed item will be donated to charity immediately without contact to the consignor.
• Be advised that Clothesline always has feature sales in the store that will effect the selling price of any given item. 
• The original price is a starting point only.

 6.      At the end of the contract period all unsold items will be given to charity.  Our local charities are very pleased to receive our donations.  
        It is your right to mark 7 weeks on your calender and come in and collect your unsold items.  Please understand that we have thousands of items in the store and we will do our best to help you retrieve your pieces but we must make our buying customers our priority.  If the store is full of shoppers you will need to have patience and wait.  Be advised we do not make reminder phone calls!
 
7.      We are not responsible for vandalism, theft, fire or any damage incurred to consigned items.  This includes customers who wear a lot of makeup or are less than gentle with items.

8.      Terms and Conditions are subject to change without notice.

9.     All accounts with no activity for one year fall under the unclaimed property act and will be made inactive. All unclaimed payouts then become property of the store.  It is the consignor’s responsibility to follow up with their accounts. 

It is a simple process to keep all of the proceeds of your consignment.  All you need to do is come into the store once a year  - inquire about your account and if you have a credit account you need only make one small purchase that is associated with your name and the funds will roll over for another entire year!

April / May/ June -Summer tanks, shorts, sandals...Vacation time!
July - transitional pieces coming up to Back to work, Back to School...
August/ September- Fall medium weight jackets& sweaters, light scarves
 leather gloves, fall purses, shoes, leather boots, work & casual attire, etc...
      Halloween Sept 15-Oct 22nd
 October /November/December -Winter weight jackets, Sweaters, scarves, nice gloves & hats, purses, shoes, nice boots, work & casual attire, etc...
Holiday Wear Christmas & New Years...  - Oct 22nd-Dec 19th consign last years holiday outfits and find a new to you look for this year!
